‘’You’re good for nothing.’’

‘’You can’t even do a simple thing like this?”

‘’Why can’t you be as good as (this person) or (that person)?”

Sometimes the words you hear from others...can cut really deep.

Not only that…but how it eventually breaks a person’s confidence and self-esteem in the long run.

And many times…it occurs way back.

During childhood.

A time when we’re young and impressionable.

A time when our belief systems and experiences were built on.

And as we grew up…we carry these experiences as we go through life.

Low confidence shows up in different situations:

  • The dream job you wanted to have but held back on because you felt you weren’t confident enough to give it a shot.
  • The conversation you’d wanted to have…but didn’t. Cause you were afraid to look silly and awkward.
  • An injustice you experienced at the marketplace but kept quiet about it. Cause you didn’t want to rock the boat.

You see…confidence is the essential building block for success in all areas of your life.

Whether it’s at home, at work, in your relationships, or social settings.

Confidence plays a critical role in how you see yourself and in how you behave.

It can affect your relationship with family and friends, job performance, your involvement in the community.

And can even hold you back from achieving your smallest to biggest goals in life.

The Foundation of Self-Confidence In Islam - Tawakkul.

Your absolute confidence and trust in Allah.

Believing and knowing that nothing can happen to you or hurt you unless it is by Allah’s Will.

“[Then] when you have decided on a course of action, put your trust in Allah:  Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.  If Allah helps you [believers], no one can overcome you.  If he forsakes you, who else can help you?  Believers should put their trust in Allah.” [The Qu’ran 3: 159-160]

Remember…that in whatever you’re trying to do, you’re never alone.

Knowing and remembering that you have Allah - is one of the primary keys to developing as an individual and raising confidence levels.

Real confidence is not…

  • Dominating and controlling conversations
  • Always highlighting other people’s flaws.
  • Self-praise and bragging to the world about achievements
  • Sounding intelligent or looking good
  • Being the loudest in the room and at the center of attention
  • Seeking glory and adoration from people.
  • Seeking an abundant life in terms of wealth, status, and property.
  • Striving to get ahead at the cost of losing self or hurting others
  • Defensive, impulsive action to always fight one’s corner
  • Finding fault with others and expecting them to change first

Real confidence is…

  • Being open-minded enough to entertain another person’s opinion.
  • Being kind and raising another person’s self-esteem
  • Having full humility and recognizing nothing is achieved without the help and mercy of Allah
  • About beautifying your heart with sincerity, compassion, mercy, and empathy.
  • Speaking only what is necessary and being interested in what others have to say.
  • Only seeking Allah’s praise with full tawakkul that He acknowledges and sees all your efforts.
  • Seeking an abundant heart filled with the love of Allah.
  • About using wisdom, holding on to values, and upholding manners
  • Having the self-discipline to pause, evaluate, and then appropriately respond
  • Reflecting on your own actions first and seek changes within self

"I am able to show up to work with self-confidence and gratitude, being positive and overcoming both professional and personal challenges that have come my way. I am able to take risks and actions and speak up for myself or on behalf of my staff in a respectful manner, all while holding onto our Islamic adhab. I am better able to balance my life's priorities and demands, putting Allah (swt) first and maintaining balance with deen, work, family, friends, community, and my own self self care.  This all requires self-confidence and knowing when to just say no. Training with Hafsah has given me focus, a positive mindset, and a can-do attitude. I am constantly growing and moving forward and highly recommend for each of you to start this journey and not look back. You won't be sorry you did."

- Shehnaz Chaudhri Group Engineer, Civil Engineer, P.E. USA

"And just after 2 sessions my mindset had completely shifted. From turning down work which involved public speaking I started saying yes and conquered this fear by doing my first ever live which reached nearly 500 people! I have turned a massive corner and cannot describe how wonderful it feels. The coaching and being part of Sister Hafsah’s Mastermind has been life changing. May Allah reward her in abundance in sha Allah Ameen"

"Ma sha Allah, it’s been amazing. My anxiety has gone when I meet new people or in groups. She has built my confidence up, where I no longer care what others think, but rather about being myself! I have benefited from her vast knowledge on health and time management amongst many other topics. I would recommend Hafsah for anyone wanting to change their life."

- Tahrin, Teacher, UK

How different would your life be…if you could:

  • Be more grounded regardless of outcomes, environment, or other people's judgment.
  • Have the courage to reflect on how you’re showing up in the world today and go deeper to bring out the best in you.
  • Have the confidence to stand up for beliefs in the workplace and home with adab.
  • Aim high fearlessly, knowing Allah’s help is with you.
  • Be confident in maintaining your values, e.g., wearing a hijab/growing a beard in the workplace, performing prayers even if it seems inconvenient, not backbiting, rising above pettiness.
  • Be confident to let go of resentment and forgive, lead with compassion, gratefulness, and mercy seeking Allah’s pleasure.
